Serving Together
Projects in a Box are usually requested for 8 to 10 employees. NAI Earle Furman requested a Project in a Box for 50 employees! Here’s what we did:
Rebuild Upstate divided up their team into four shifts. Two homes were chosen due to the nature of their needs and their proximity to Lakeside Park, where NAI Earl Furman employees met in the morning and held a pig pickin’ picnic for lunch!
“The majority of us give time and money to nonprofits, but we do it individually. Doing this together as one team was so impactful as a teambuilding activity alone, not to mention what we were able to provide for the families in need.” – NAI Earle Furman Volunteer
One home had an unfinished bathroom, broken windows, and a handicap ramp in disrepair. The second had flood-damaged flooring throughout the home. The volunteers received Rebuild Upstate supplies, heard a brief orientation, and set to work!
“It blew my mind. We have been trying to get help with the ramp for 5 years, and no one has been able to come through for us until now.” – Homeowner
